Job Purpose

Schedules patient appointments for office visits, surgeries, tests, or procedures.  Manages and coordinates patient referrals. Provides administrative support for physicians as needed. Takes calls, messages, Pages, directs call to correct locations, maintains call schedule and obtains medical records of time period prior to joining BCM. We do not use the Centralized Call center. This position is the voice of the department and the first impression of the clinic and Baylor College of Medicine.

Job Duties
  • Enters and maintains patient records.
  • Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
  • Corresponds with patient's referring physician as needed.
  • Reviews referral data and ensures all referral loops are being closed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience Required: Two years of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
