Job Title:  Coordinator, Patient Support Services - Ben Taub Hospital - Bilingual (Spanish)

Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  $39,150 - $45,000
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Baylor Teen Health Clinic is seeking a Coordinator, Patient Support Services who will assist with various administrative tasks to support the department's goals.  Each clinic is typically staffed with a Coordinator, Patient Support Services, a Medical Assistant, a Nurse (RN or LVN), and a Nurse Practitioner. 

 

The candidate may be required to travel between clinics.

 

The Baylor Teen Health Clinic currently provides pregnancy testing, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and HIV/AIDS education and screening, primary healthcare, and case management services to teens, their partners, and adolescents in Harris County. The clinics provide services to teens from the age of 13-24.

• HIV/AIDS education and screening

Job Duties

  • Greets, orients and answer patients questions. 
  • Schedules and coordinates patient appointments and visits, including telemedicine.
  • Prepares and maintains daily appointment schedules, collects necessary patient information, and completes documentation, applications and eligibility.
  • Processes enrollment applications and performs data entry timely, accurately and in compliance with State and Federal standards and guidelines.
  • Records patient arrival in Practice Suite and and makes follow-up appointments as required. 
  • Acts as a front line representative, records and maintain reports and data to support operational activities.  
  • Manages multiple task and deadlines using organizational skills.
  • Enters information into databases and tracks patient demographic information.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office applications, and the Internet.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills are necessary. 
  • Must have ability to make independent decisions while exercising good judgment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
