The Epidemiology Program is the largest program devoted to pediatric cancer epidemiology in the US. The Program currently has several funded research projects focused on pediatric cancer etiology and survivorship. This position provides much-needed support to faculty and any trainees or staff assigned through the following activities. Coordinates calendars to assist with coordination of meetings, people and daily activities. Provides support to the department by processing purchase orders, manages travel, maintains calendars, and composes correspondence. Daily activities include scheduling/rescheduling meetings, schedules and coordinates various resources for meetings, organizes and tracks work, tracks and files documents, and provides general office document support and management. This individual should have excellent communication skills.

Job Duties

  • Manages calendars and meetings.
  • Assists with coordination of meetings, people, and daily activities.
  • Identifies and schedules various resources needed for activities/meetings  such as, room/space, food/drink, equipment, and other supplies as needed.
  • Prepares and processes purchasing orders.
  • Processes invoices for payment via institutional systems and places purchase orders.
  • Tracks status of all orders and invoices. Manages domestic and international travel in CONCUR.
  • Submits expenses for reimbursement.
  • Compose formal and informal correspondence including, but not limited to, creating and formatting presentations.
  • Provides editorial support, CV management, and general office document support and management.
  • Assists with manuscript preparation and distribution, assists with grant application preparation and processing.
  • Assists with timekeeping.
  • Inspects and troubleshoots shared department equipment.
  • Facilities service calls as needed.
  • Provides additional support to faculty and staff members as needed.
  • Assists faculty with the collation of documents for grant applications.
  • Assists faculty with maintenance of curriculum vitae, biosketches, and other support documents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
