Summary

The Section of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Medicine is seeking a competent and reliable Business Operations Coordinator to join our team.

 

The Business Operations Coordinator, under supervision of the Section Administrator and Lead Business Operations Coordinator, will provide administrative and operational support for our faculty and research lab PI's at Main Baylor. This position is responsible for processing credentialing applications, processing purchase orders, managing faculty travel, and coordinating multiple projects withing the section.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and processes credentialing applications and reappointment requests for our Harris Health faculty.
  • Prepares reimbursement and travel requests in Concur and SAP.
  • Coordinates events for our section, including but not limited to: Fellows quarterly gatherings, Section's social and academic gatherings, and other section special events.
  • Assists with fellowship needs when Academic Coordinator is unavailable, including but not limited to: Coordinates fellows interviews for incoming fellows, coordinates fellows graduation, assists in planning of fellow's events throughout the year.
  • Responsible for all creative services orders for our section: ordering business cards, marketing materials, scheduling photo sessions for faculty/staff.
  • Processes shopping carts in SRM for general office supplies and lab coat orders and cleaning.
  • Submits all workorder requests for Research Labs.
  • Schedules medical students and visiting students for course electives within the section.
  • Coordinates medical and visiting students for Ben Taub Hematology, Ben Taub Medical Oncology and MEDVAMC rotations.
  • Arranges Postdoc initial appointments and reappointments.
  • Handles mail/shipping needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
