Performs general administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, preparing documents, making travel arrangements and ordering supplies.

Job Duties

The Coordinator I in the BCM Infectious Diseases Section, under the supervision of Shital Patel, MD, will primarily be responsible for developing and implementing educational and research projects in the BCM Infectious Diseases Section.   This position will have dedicated duties for programs/projects for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded grant for the South Central AIDS Education and Training Center (SCAETC).
Duties will include but not be limited to:

a. Attending team development meetings for projects
b. Maintaining appropriate records for educational/training programs
c. Responding promptly to queries generated by the University of New Mexico SCAETC central office or HRSA
d. Participate in preparing grant proposals
e. Creating promotional material
f. Maintaining project logs and providing weekly updates at team meetings
g. Help develop, implement, and conduct educational projects under the grant
h. Maintaining all BCM required trainings
i. Maintaining Certification for Protection of Human Subjects
j. Participating in conference calls for to the SCAETC and as needed for specific projects or educational partners
k. Attending project specific meetings, locally and nationally
l. Maintaining a good working relationship with all investigators and team personnel
m. Communicating effectively with multiple health agencies throughout the greater Houston area
n. Attend local meetings to help develop collaborations
o. Communicating effectively with the University of New Mexico SCAETC central office, Thomas Street Health Center, Harris Health System, HRSA, local educational partners
p. Inputting data into the pertinent tracking data system for the SCAETC
q. Develop databases for specific projects
r. Administrative tasks related to the project
s. Travel to educational partners

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience Required: Two years of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
