The Section of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Business Operations Coordinator to provide support at the Section's Hospital Medicine Programs at Ben Taub Hospital.  This role is responsible for ensuring daily business operations are executed, including overseeing provider credentialling, maintaining clinic schedules, and day-to-day administrative support. With over 250 faculty and staff, the section of General Internal Medicine is one of the largest and most diverse in mission and faculty in the Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine. Our multi-disciplinary faculty members provide a broad range of clinical services, educational leadership, scholarly efforts, and service to the community. Our section members work as hospitalists, outpatient primary care physicians, emergency center clinicians, pharmacists, and public health experts across the greater Houston area. 


This position may offer a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Duties

  • Supports the day-to-day operations of the hospital medicine program at Ben Taub.
  • Serves as the primary credentialing contact for BCM providers at Harris Health including BaylorMedCare credentialing, including the tracking of credentialing status, initial credentialing, and re-credentialing.
  • Maintains schedules in QGenda.
  • Processes supplemental payments for faculty for moonlighting and other additional assignments.
  • Manages death certificate process via TxEVER system.
  • Provides administrative support and IT support to faculty and Harris Health program.
  • Maintains the website and online faculty profiles for Harris Health faculty.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • QGenda experience.
  • Credentialing experience.
