The Clinical Information Systems Analyst II/ Epic Provisioning Analyst provides ongoing and operational analysis, support and maintenance for Epic electronic medical records system used by Baylor College of Medicine clinical departments. Participates in project management activities for systems related to the clinical practice. Primarily responsible for provisioning, enhancing and supporting a variety of Epic user and provider data dictionaries while ensuring appropriate security classes applied.

Job Duties
  • Primarily responsible for enhancing, provisioning, supporting and maintaining both User and Provider records for the Epic system.
  • Under minimal supervision, provisions, formulates and manages Epic User/User Template (EMP) and Provider and Resource (SER) INI/Master Files.
  • Leverages Epic’s Data Courier tool by migrating build across Epic environments, troubleshooting and focusing on CID/UCI synchronization and dependencies are identified and resolved.
  • Performs technical changes including documenting the environment, maintaining change control policies, maximizing technology utilities and supporting the application environment.
  • Participates in validation, design, build, testing and implementation of data user provisioning records and/or dictionaries.
  • Demonstrates competency of an application systems analyst and implementation activities, including in depth analyses of workflow, data collection, report details and another technical issues associated.
  • Identifies issues that impact deadlines and quality of projects and escalate to Team Lead.
  • Completes project and support assignments in accordance with established service level agreements and defined and published project timelines.
  • Understands the structure of Epic User (EMP) and Provider (SER) records, including profiles, roles, menus and security classes while providing guidance with automated processes for efficiency.
  • Serve. as point person for SER and EMP record related issues and questions regarding Epic EMR.
  • Engages in Epic Upgrade tasks, review of release notes that may impact of Epic User (EMP), Provider Records (SER) and Security points.
  • Actively participates in planning, implementation and support of related applications and IT projects.
  • Provides visibility and interact as a liaison between Information Technology group and the clinical group community.
  • Takes ownership, performs analysis, investigation, diagnosis, and problem solving for clinical computing environment while collaborating and fostering teamwork within IT groups.
  • Triages and manages break/fix, and prioritization while communicating effectively to the end user.
  • Assists with special projects, Go Live support, technical dress rehearsal efforts, upgrades, enhancements and serve primary point of contact for ongoing maintenance/support and troubleshooting.
  • Ensures safety, confidentiality and security of employee and patient data.
  • On-call, after hour and weekend support is required on a rotating schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic Security Certification
  • Epic Provider Administration Badge or Security Proficiency
  • Epic Application Certification in lieu of Security certification
