The Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an outstanding leader of General Pediatrics to serve as Division Director and lead the Division of General Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.





The division consists of 8 General Pediatricians, The position will have dedicated administrative time to develop and grow the division of General Pediatrics. The position is employed by Baylor College of Medicine and offers a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits package including paid relocation.




The successful candidate is board-certified/eligible in General Pediatrics and must be eligible for academic rank of Associate Professor or full Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. Excellence in clinical care, teaching, team building, and scholarly contribution is required. The Division Director is also responsible for overseeing the Division of General Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. The Division Director is responsible for developing outstanding leadership and follow the mission of the Division of General Pediatrics to provide excellent service to families and referring physicians, develop new diagnostic and therapeutic programs, and improve the outcomes and lifestyles of children with heart disease. Experience in administrative leadership and mentoring junior faculty is highly desired. 


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Provides strong leadership to the division to provide the most outstanding medical care, research and education possible.
  • Develops long-range plans for the division.
  • Recommends division appointments and promotions to the Vice Chair.
  • Stimulates and supports research studies in the division.
  • Demands the highest quality of medical care for patients.
  • Demonstrates and demands the highest ethical and professional behavior.
  • Manages budgets and maintains positive financial performance for the division.
