Job Description: 


The Department of Medicine is actively seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Business Strategy and Development Associate. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the strategic direction and fostering the development of the department's affiliate clinical service lines, with a primary focus on Harris Health System and Texas Children's Hospital. The Business Strategy and Development Associate will work with leadership to manage clinical staffing plans, develop proposals for the creation or expansion of clinical services, and serve as the primary liaison between the Department of Medicine and our clinical affiliate partners.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement within the Greater Houston, TX area after an onboarding and training period.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to contribute to the formulation and execution of strategic plans for affiliate clinical service lines including the development and management of staffing plans, developing guidelines and measuring productivity, and successful strategies for revenue growth and expense control.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders within the Department of Medicine and across Baylor College of Medicine, fostering collaboration and alignment with organizational goals and strategic plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at Harris Health System, Texas Children's Hospital, and other hospital systems within the Texas Medical Center.
  • Identify and assess growth opportunities, analyze market trends, and develop strategies to enhance the department's presence and impact within our affiliate clinical service lines.
  • Develop executive level summaries, business cases, proposals, presentations, and communications for distribution to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement performance metrics and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Lead special projects related to business strategy for the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare, Business, or related field and no experience will also be considered.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to gain the confidence of faculty, staff, leaders, colleagues, etc.
  • Ability to display a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required and must be able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
