The Baylor Teen Health Clinic currently provides pregnancy testing, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and HIV/AIDS education and screening, primary healthcare, and case management services to teens, their partners, and adolescents in Harris County. The clinics provide services to teens from the age of 13-24.

  • HIV/AIDS education and screening

Job Purpose

Provides patient outreach, education and counseling/therapy in one of eight Baylor Teen Health Clinic locations.

Job Duties

  • Interview clients and relatives to obtain social history relevant to medical problems and history.
  • Assess each client during initial contact.
  • Document progress after client visits.
  • Answer client calls and assess need for services.
  • Plan a course of treatment or refer clients to appropriate agencies and physicians.
  • Conduct independent psychotherapies to assist patients in achieving positive psychological or social adjustments.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical and nursing staff, clients, relatives and appropriate outside agencies.
  • Arrange transportation for clients to physicians’ appointments.
  • Enter additional information into other databases, such as HIV and STI results.
  • Manage vaccine inventories.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.
  • No experience is required.
  • Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HIV positive patients.


  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Will work in one of nine clinic locations.
