The Trauma and Grief (TAG) Center at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine seeks to fill a Behavioral Health Specialist on behavioral mobile unit and main campus.

Job Duties

This 40-hour per week appointment will involve implementing evidence-based assessment and trauma-informed interventions for traumatized and/or bereaved youth, ages 7 to 17, including youth who may have a history of other traumas such as exposure to Hurricane Harvey. This person may also be involved in the training and dissemination of these practices nationally as part of a series of trainings hosted by our TAG Center, a Category II Treatment and Service Adaptation Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. The position requires close collaboration with treatment developers to support monitoring of fidelity to treatment and refinement of interventions to ensure cultural attunement. The position also involves working within a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Required Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • None Required.
  • Required: Current LCSW, LPC or LMFT or completing professional licensure requirements.

Clinical practice concentration and field practicum or recent work experience in health care agency or hospital, outpatient clinic, or other clinical practice setting. Must have some experience working with traumatized and/or bereaved youth.
