Job Title:  Basic/Advanced Life Support Instructor
Division:  Emergency Medicine
Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  $27.55 - $30.63 per hour
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

Life support instructors teach AHA certified life support courses to learners, trainees, and faculty throughout the Baylor College of Medicine institution.

Job Duties

  • Instructs learners in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses.
  • Maintains equipment for all courses above including reporting of non-functioning equipment, troubleshooting equipment, setup and breakdown/storage of equipment at each course session.
  • Sets up classroom, manikins, and equipment for training and prepare equipment for storage following training.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED. Preferred Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience. No experience required with Bachelor’s degree.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor Certification by the American Heart Association.
