Summary

Temporary position, assignment may last approximately 3 months.  Work schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.  This position is not eligible for benefits.  Parking $10 - $14 per day depending on garage location.

 

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant temp to work with our Multiple Sclerosis Group. This position will perform patient care and administrative/support responsibilities in an ambulatory setting.

Job Duties

  • Schedules patient tests, procedures, and appointments.
  • Conduct patient outreach phone calls and post visit follow-ups.
  • Manages in-basket messages.
  • Manages and coordinates incoming patient referrals.
  • Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
  • Performs clerical/administrative responsibilities such as filing and/or scanning patient medical records, obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
  • Take inventory of clinic supplies and order supplies as needed.
  • Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs.
  • Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation and enters information in the electronic medical record.
  • Notes the primary complaint/reason for patient's visit.
  • Sets up instruments and equipment for physician.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training program through an accredited institution.
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited professional organization (CMA, RMA, NCMA or CCMA). New employees who are not currently certified, must obtain certification within six months of employment.
