Summary

The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is in search of an Audiology Coordinator II to join our growing clinical team. This position will positively contribute to the patients' experience by communicating with professionalism and compassion. The Audiology Coordinator II will help to coordinate the daily operations and provide advanced administrative support for the Hearing and Balance Clinic.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates with hearing aid manufacturers to ensure orders, repairs, returns and warranties are correctly processed, shipped and/or approved.
  • Packages and ships hearing aid repairs and returns.
  • Checks in the received hearing aids and informs the audiologists of receipt.
  • Performs Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) hearing screens on patients in accordance with clinic protocols and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Communicates screening results and schedule follow up appointments.
  • Orders hearing aid supply inventory as needed. Greet patients, answers clinic phones and schedules appointments.
  • Sends phone encounters to audiologists when patients are seeking counsel on lost or replacement devices.
  • Ensures audiology orders in Epic for referring providers. 
  • Provides additional administrative support to Clinic Manager and Audiologists on duty as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains screening equipment and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) Registration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare.
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) such as Epic, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
