Summary
The Associate Chief of the Laboratory Medicine Division will assist in providing leadership and oversight of laboratory services for the Laboratory Medicine Division. The role includes supporting the Division Chief in overseeing professional, scientific, consultative, administrative, and educational activities within the division. The Associate Division Chief will help ensure the division's services meet regulatory standards and exceed patient and provider needs, while also working closely with the Chief contributing to implement strategic visions, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of educational and research programs. This role is essential in upholding Texas Children's mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research.
Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree with board certification in Clinical Pathology, or in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Must possess a valid medical license, or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas. Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with demonstrated leadership or management experience. Must demonstrate a proven track record in quality assurance, regulatory compliance and personnel management in a healthcare setting.
Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders at various levels, including hospital leadership, medical staff and regulatory bodies. Must demonstrate proficiency in strategic planning, quality management and financial management.
