Summary

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a cardiothoracic surgeon to join our Adult Cardiac Surgery program at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (BSLMC), also home to the Texas Heart Institute (THI). Substantial resources will be available to a successfully recruited candidate to further grow and develop a nationally prominent clinical and research program in adult cardiac surgery. Ideal candidates will have completed an advanced fellowship in cardiac surgery. Our program specializes in the treatment of complex cardiac surgery patients through unique minimally invasive techniques for valve surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, aortic surgery, as well as transcatheter and endovascular procedures. Specific interest in minimally invasive or arterial conduit bypass surgery desirable.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching cardiothoracic surgery residents and advanced fellows and developing/participating in clinical/translational research efforts. The candidate will also act as part of the larger adult cardiothoracic team at BSLMC/THI and Baylor College of Medicine. ABTS board certification or board eligibility is required and the candidate must qualify for a full and unrestricted Texas medical license. An established track record in clinical research is preferred.
