Title: Assistant Professor (Surgical Oncology)
Summary
The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an exceptional breast surgeon for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the academic rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will join a team of surgical oncologists with the focus of this position's clinical practice at Baylor St. Luke's - The Woodlands Hospital.
The 150 members of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, ranked 13th by the U.S. News & World Report for departments of surgery, practice at iconic institutions within the Texas Medical Center and in the greater Houston Metropolitan area. The Department trains over 120 residents and fellows annually, including trainees in the only NRMP-listed residency track in global surgery. Our department Office of Surgical Research comprises 70 research specialists managing 80 grants and 130 active clinical studies supported by $10 million in extramural funding annually.
Job Duties
The applicant should possess exceptional clinical skills and expertise in breast surgery and have a keen interest to contribute to our educational and innovative research programs. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers focused the management of breast conditions including breast cancer. This is a new position aiming to develop the Woodlands breast practice as part of the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center and Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must be board certified or board eligible and qualify for medical licensure in the state of Texas.
