Summary

This is a faculty position with majority research and part clinical responsibilities. As an integral part of the neuro-oncology program, this position will be predominantly devoted to research and participate in collaborative brain tumor research projects, conduct cutting edge research to be published in high-profile journals, and discoveries that are translated into the clinical arena.


The scope of clinical practice may include:

  1. Managing outpatient and/or inpatient care for designated patients in a tertiary hospital setting.
    1. Inpatient attending time includes night and weekend calls and rounds.
  2. Education and supervision of trainees including fellows, residents and advanced practice practitioners.
  3. Perform procedures (bone marrow, lumbar puncture) on patients as indicated
  4. Serve as backup and consultant for Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers physicians at our network of community hospitals.


Minimum requirements

  1. M.D. or equivalent degree
  2. Board certified or board eligible for Pediatric Hematology-Oncology boards
  3. Prior to employment start date must obtain Texas Medical License and Drug Enforcement Administration registration
