Job Duties

The Menninger Clinic is seeking a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our excellent team of professionals.This position is census driven and will float to all of the Menninger Clinic inpatient and outpatient programs. Will be responsible for the evaluation and management of assigned patients. This includes coordinating and monitoring utilization management, planning and coordinating the transition of patients through the continuum of care, and maintaining appropriate communication with required agencies and individuals throughout treatment. The Float Psychiatrist will also have the opportunity to interact with trainees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, and nursing.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an MD or DO degree with completion of an approved residency in general psychiatry;
  • Board-certified or board-eligible for certification by ABPN;
  • Must be able to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and possess knowledge of therapeutic modalities employed by team members and the assigned clinical program;
  • Current CPR certification. 


Preferred: current license to practice medicine in the State of Texas; and two (2) years of post-residency work experience in related area of specialty.
