Job Duties

The Menninger Clinic is seeking a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our excellent team of professionals. This individual will serve as the leader of the interdisciplinary treatment team as well as assume responsibility for the assessment, treatment and disposition of assigned inpatients. The primary focus of the program is a two week diagnostic evaluation which includes input and consultation from multiple disciplines culminating in a comprehensive executive summary and diagnostic feedback to the patient/family. The secondary focus includes stabilization and treatment refinement with some patients staying on longer than the two week diagnostic period. This physician-leader will also be supervising Child/Adolescent fellows assigned to the program and have the opportunity to interact with other trainees in psychology, social work, and nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an MD or DO degree with completion of an approved residency in general psychiatry and child psychiatry;
  • Board-certified or board-eligible for certification by ABPN;
  • Must be able to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and possess knowledge of therapeutic modalities employed by team members and the assigned clinical program;
  • Current CPR certification 


Preferred: Current license to practice medicine in the State of Texas; and two (2) years of post-residency work experience in related area of specialty.
