Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, seeks a Physician Anesthesiologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the section of Obstetric Anesthesiology at Ben Taub General Hospital (BTGH). Located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, BTGH has garnered respect both locally and worldwide as an outstanding acute care facility and an elite Level 1 Trauma center. With 3500 deliveries per year, the BTGH Obstetric Service recently received accreditation as a Level IV maternal care center (the highest level of obstetric and neonatal care) and caters to a high-risk pregnant population. The Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine has an ACGME-approved obstetric anesthesia fellowship program.

Job Duties

The candidate with previous academic teaching experience is preferred. Duties will involve supervision of resident education and training, mentorship of residents and fellows, and collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to provide safe, effective care for all obstetric patients, especially those with complex medical conditions. Obstetric anesthesia fellowship training is required. Evidence of scholarship and professional accomplishment is strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will 1) hold an MD or DO degree, 2) be board certified in anesthesiology), and 3) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas.
