Job Purpose

The Assistant Director of Prospect Research reports to and assists the Director of Philanthropic Business Systems with the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift prospects and contributors on behalf of Baylor College of Medicine (Baylor). The primary function is to identify and solicit prospects and current friends of Baylor College of Medicine. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Designs and develops studies and reports using research and screening tools on prospect constituencies.
  • Duties include prospect research and analytical report generation along with implementation of the prospect/donor management process including identification, tracking and other processes.
  • Assists in the management of predictive modelling, wealth screening, data mining and benchmarking, gift officer productivity metrics, portfolio audit/balancing, pipeline management, and other methodologies.
  • Develops and produces analyses and reports on ongoing fundraising history and current performance, prospect pool status, pipeline forecast reporting and other business intelligence used to inform the strategic management of fundraising operations campus wide
  • Creates reports on prospect information and collected research, integrating information from a variety of sources into a format designed for efficient review. Reports may include full bios, short summaries and other formats as requested.
  • Disseminates prospect news and rating information effectively; participate in planning meetings, strategy development, and prospect qualification meetings.
  • Creates and analyzes custom ad hoc gift and constituent reports for Development Officers, the Office of Institutional Advancement and other Baylor departments.
  • Provides Raiser's Edge instruction/training for department members.
  • Provides first line troubleshooting assistance for desktop user problems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience: Preferred: 

  • Three years of experience with Raiser's Edge and Crystal Reports experience
