Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropic Operations, Assistant Director of Development for Data Analytics and Research supports the Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs in fundraising efforts through management of the fundraising database and online engagement platforms. This position works to increase data integrity, maximize efficiency in data processes, performs data analysis, and assists in execution of direct mail and online engagement campaigns as well as prospect research. This position also helps develop the structure and procedures to support the fundraising initiatives and identify and implement tools for analytics, predictive modeling, metrics, and other reporting activities.

Job Purpose

This staff member assists all aspects of data management through Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge fundraising database, Luminate Online communications platform and Graduway alumni engagement platform. Works in cooperation with Foundation staff to effectively produce lists, reports, forms, and emails to cultivate, solicit, recognize and steward constituents of the institution and its related entities.

Job Duties
  • Maintain Raiser's Edge Database
    • Oversees donor data entry, gift processing and reconciliation with finance
    • Maintains data integrity, including individual contact data updates, mass data imports, and ongoing regular QC queries to establish and maintain a standardized dataset.  
    • Documents QC and data import/export processes, trains staff on data entry standards.
    • Creates regular and ad hoc export and analysis of data 
  • Maintain Online Engagement Platforms
    • Generates online donation and event registration forms and landing pages
    • Maintains email database and communication segments for direct response
    • Oversees data transfer processes to ensure accuracy of Raiser's Edge database
  • Prospect Research using a variety of online research tools and producing reports 
Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.

Experience:

  • Required: One year of relevant experience.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Preferred: One to three years of experience managing Blackbaud Raiser's Edge database and/or Luminate Online platform is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Extensive experience with MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel required, familiarity with Omatic, Papersave, SKY Reporting and/or Tableau preferred.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of prospect research, with specific experience in research techniques, resources, written communications and profile production preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a fundraising environment and knowledge of fundraising strategy is strongly preferred.
