Summary
Baylor College of Medicine at Ben Taub Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Regional Anesthesiologist to join our Anesthesiology Department. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered regional anesthesia care, including acute pain management and advanced nerve block techniques. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist with specialized training or significant experience in regional anesthesia.

Job Duties
- Administer a wide range of regional anesthesia techniques, including peripheral nerve blocks, neuraxial blocks (spinal/epidural), and ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical, medical, and nursing teams to develop and execute individualized anesthesia care plans.
- Provide intraoperative anesthesia care and postoperative pain management with an emphasis on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols.
- Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the development of best practices, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based protocols in regional anesthesia.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and state and federal regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program.
- Fellowship training in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine (preferred).
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology (ABA or equivalent).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Texas.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years post-residency clinical experience preferred (new fellowship grads welcome).
- Strong clinical expertise in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques.
- Experience with multimodal pain management approaches.
Skills and Abilities:

- Proficiency with EMR systems and documentation best practices.
Working Conditions:
- Hospital-based environment including ORs, pre-op, PACU, and procedural areas.
- May involve early morning, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, and hazardous materials.
