The Lee and Joe Jamail Specialty Care Center is a part of the McNair Campus of the Texas Medical Center, along with the Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center. 


Job Purpose


To deliver safe, high quality, evidence-based anesthesia care for patients in a day surgery setting with high volume and quick turnover cases.


Job Duties


  • Administers high quality, safe inhalational and intravenous anesthesia for surgical and/or medical procedures.
  • Plays a crucial role in supporting patient safety throughout the perioperative period
  • Assesses and evaluates patients prior to the administration of anesthesia in order to formulate anesthetic plan
  • Monitors patients and vital signs during procedures
  • Responds to emergency/code situations in order to provide airway management
  • Documents anesthetic information and patient condition
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications


Education: Master's degree in in Nursing.

Experience: None required.



  • Required: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Required: Current Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. ACLS/PALS card required.


The Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine is focused on patient care and research in all aspects of the specialty including critical care, postoperative cognitive dysfunction, simulator-based anesthesiology education, obstetric anesthesia, and pain management.
