Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking full-time faculty to join the Division of Cardiovascular (CV) Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (BSLMC). This role offers the opportunity to care for some of the most complex and high-acuity cardiovascular patients in the country, while contributing to Baylor’s academic and research mission.
Job Duties
- Provide clinical coverage in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units (CVICUs)
- Opportunities for clinical coverage in the CVOR and General Anesthesia OR available depending on training and interest.
- Deliver direct patient care for complex post–cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valves), open and endovascular aortic cases, and patients supported with advanced mechanical circulatory support (MCS) including percutaneous and durable VADs, total artificial heart, and ECMO.
- Care for advanced transplant populations including heart, lung, and liver transplant patients.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and outcomes.
- Engage in teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, fellows, and APPs, with opportunities for academic advancement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: M.D/ DO or equivalent.
- Training:
- Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine required.
- For CV Anesthesia & Critical Care Medicine positions: Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and Fellowship in Cardiovascular Anesthesiology required.
- Strong track record of clinical excellence during residency and fellowship.
- Demonstrated academic enthusiasm, with commitment to teaching, scholarship, and professional development.
