Summary
The Faculty Physician serves as a member of the Baylor Medicine Comprehensive Healthcare Clinic concierge and executive programs team serving high-touch Baylor constituents, special patient populations, and corporate clients. Baylor Medicine is seeking a progressive and highly qualified physician with demonstrably innovative experience in preventive and complex care to: Provide care for patients in a physician led, professionally managed, renowned advanced primary care clinic with exceptional service standards.
Job Duties
Patient Care:
- Provide exemplary care with courtesy and respect in all patient care matters.
- Oversee the primary and secondary healthcare of each patient on a personalized basis.
- Display complex medical diagnosis and problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Educate and engage each patient (and family members, as appropriate) in all personal healthcare matters.
- Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
- Assess lifestyle behaviors and family history.
- Diagnose and develop therapeutic treatment plan for active medical issues.
- Develop preventive health and lifestyle improvement recommendations.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with legal and professional guidelines.
- Review and act upon incoming reports (lab, imaging, genetics) in a timely manner.
- Monitor each patient’s condition and progress; reevaluate treatment plan(s) as necessary.
- Arrange patient referrals for specialty, inpatient, and other levels of care.
- Collaborate with broader clinical team to co-manage care.
- Communicate directly with hospitalized patients as needed.
- Document timely, efficiently, and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
- Provide coverage for colleagues according to call schedule.
- Achieve established quality benchmarks in the top decile.
Service:
- Provide same day access to patients by way of preferred method (in-clinic, telephonic, or video visit).
- Remain available to patients after office hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Respond to patient and staff requests within 4 hours.
- Collaborate and communicate with referral providers on specialty care in a timely and clear manner.
- Achieve patient satisfaction scores in the top level.
- Uphold ethical standards and protect the highest level of patient confidentiality.
- Maintain hospital privileges at appropriate facilities as needed.

- Work effectively with executive leadership, colleagues, staff, patrons, professional groups, and other members of the community.

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- 10+ years of progressive clinical and leadership experience
- Demonstrated skills in preventive/acute/chronic/complex care
Preferred:
- Experience in an academic or research institution
- Additional board certification in related field
- Leadership in professional organizations
- Related research and publications
Licensure/Certification:
Required:
- Current Texas State medical license
- Current DEA certification
- Current CPR/ACLS certification
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Current immunization records
- Applicable department, payer, and facility appointment
