Summary

This position is the administrative leader for the Institute for Clinical and Translation Research (ICTR).  The ICTR provides a learning environment at Baylor College of Medicine that integrates data from diverse domains including the electronic medical record, geospatial and social information and next generation technologies to support research, development and implementation of new approaches to patient care. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Administrator I will manage the financial, budgetary, and personnel operations of the department.  This position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.

 

This position may be eligible to work partially remote at the discretion of management and after a training period.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all financial, personnel, patient care, research, educational, and operational activities of a department.
  • Enforces safety compliance rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for preparing the annual department budget.
  • Coordinates services across the department to ensure that the clinical, research and education missions are aligned with Baylor College of Medicine’s missions and values.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with all federal laws, state laws, and Baylor College of Medicine policies and procedures.
  • Participates in strategic planning for the department regarding operations and new program development.
  • Serves as liaison for the chair, faculty, staff, residents, and students with other university departments and offices.
  • Communicates with Faculty and Staff regarding deadlines, notices and College mandated changes.
  • Manages billing for institutional wide resources (biostatisticians and data warehouse).
  • Supports development of institutional wide grant applications.
  • Supports recruitment efforts for biomedical informatics faculty.
  • Coordinates active projects with faculty members and maintains relevant effort tracking.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Ten years of relevant experience.  Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in academia / higher education.
  • Grants administration experience.
