Salary Range:  $39,150 - $46,059
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Medicine Fannin Tower cardiology is seeking a Coordinator, Patient Support Services with experience  scheduling patient office visits, surgeries, tests and procedures. This candidate will also provide administrative support to faculty and the education program.

Job Duties

  • Acts as liaison between patients and surgical facility.
  • Obtains surgical and clinical pre-authorizations.
  • Coordinates patients' ancillary appointments.
  • Answers patient calls and questions regarding surgeries.
  • Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
  • Corresponds with patient's referring physician as needed.
  • Reviews referral data and ensures all referral loops are being closed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.
  • Handles confidential documents.
  • Supports faculty and physician recruitment activities.
  • Answers help line calls and assists patients with questions Answers help line email and assists patients with questions provide administrative support to faculty and the education program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Patient scheduling experience.
  • Insurance verification experience.
