Salary Range:  $70,618 - $83,080
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Consortium for Translational and Precision Health (CTPH) is a public/private partnership led by Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and the University of Houston (UH). It provides research support by creating an integrated network of research service cores and community organizations. UH and BCM have collective strengths in translational research, basic science discovery, health informatics, pharmaceutical sciences, education, and community-engaged research. These strengths are leveraged to develop, demonstrate, and disseminate health-focused innovations across Texas and the U.S. 

 

We are seeking a Communications Associate to employ communications strategies to advance the mission, vision and values of Baylor College of Medicine, including media relations, external and internal communications, web-based and social media strategies, public relations, and community outreach opportunities for the BCM community.

 

This position is onsite and located in the Texas Medical Center.

Job Duties

65% Communications:

  • Oversees the development, maintenance, and routine updates of the research website, including both front-end and back-end operations.
  • Develops and manages multimedia content to support research initiatives, programs, and outreach efforts.
  • Coordinates and executes routine communications, including drafting, editing, and distributing a monthly digital newsletter and an annual magazine.
  • Coordinates with the Office of Communications and Community Outreach on multimedia and web projects/initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all communications (multimedia content, newsletters, websites)  follows institutional brand and style guidelines.                          

20% Enrichment:

  • Edits and adapts coursework, training materials, and educational content to align with evolving research programs and initiatives.
  • Supports symposiums, enrichment programs, and training sessions by drafting, editing, and adapting content for various audiences.

15% - Implementation & Dissemination Support:                                       

  • Leads the preparation for implementation and dissemination of research findings through the development of reports, including external advisory reports and other key documentation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement. 
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in communications within an Academic and or Healthcare setting.
  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Experience with implementing cohesive branding and communication marketing materials.
