Summary
The Clinical Applications Associate provides ongoing operational analysis, support and maintenance for clinical applications used by the Baylor College of Medicine clinical departments. Participates in project management activities for clinical systems related to the clinical practice. This position will work primarily with Ambulatory applications; however, responsibilities are cross functional to support other clinical modules. This role rotates on-call and help desk tier 2 support.
The Clinical Team is a cross-functional team that is responsible for supporting multiple Epic modules (Ambulatory, MyChart, Beacon, Willow, CareEverywhere, EpicCare Link) in collaboration with other Clinical Technology teams to support patient access, revenue and 3rd party integration and interfaces. The candidate must be willing to multitask, eager to learn and demonstrate accountability. They must have strong communication skills and demonstrate competence in communicating and demonstrations with Operational leaders, physicians and clinical staff. This role requires collaboration and teamwork and the ability to collaborate across IT teams.
The Department of Information Technology at Baylor College of Medicine provides technology services, support and partnership in delivering key values to the mission of Baylor College of Medicine. Information Technology offices are located at the Nabisco, McGovern Campus, in the Texas Medical Center.
This position is eligible to work hybrid within the Greater Houston, TX area with only occasional onsite as needed.
Job Duties
- Analyzes workflows to develop and implement clinical application functionality based on departmental needs.
- Assists with supporting and maintaining supported applications.
- Proactively analyzes, investigates, resolves and documents data issues in clinical applications and interfaces to ensure accuracy, consistency and data integrity.
- Participates in project management activities related to application and module implementations. May also act as project lead.
- Provides high tier troubleshooting and subject matter expertise related to the supported clinical applications.
- Monitors and troubleshoots error logs and data errors related to data dictionaries and interfaces.
- Provides operational/data liaison with Baylor departments to identify and resolve issues related to data, data integrity, and interfaces.
- Provides operational/data liaison with CSS to identify enhancement opportunities for improved operational efficiency.
- Participates in application upgrades, modifications, and enhancements.
- Assists with development of documentation for data dictionaries, specifications, data maps, project plans and timelines, standards, policies, procedures, task and issues logs.
- Assist Senior and Lead Analysts with projects and build related to clinical Epic modules: Ambulatory, Beacon, CareEverywhere, EpicCare Link, MyChart, Research and Willow.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Department-specific Requirements
- Experience in Epic EHR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic certifications especially Ambulatory, Beacon, CareEverywhere, EpicCare Link, MyChart, Research or Willow.
