Summary
A Research Technician position is immediately available in Department of Medicine and Cardiovascular Research Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. The project is seeking a motivated technician to assist with studies on cardiovascular diseases. The lab studies the molecular mechanisms underneath the regulation of endothelial cell functions during vascular development and a variety of pathological conditions.
Job Duties
- Performs experiments under the instruction while also coordinating and collaborating with team members.
- Collects and analyzes results, and reports findings to the Principal Investigator.
- Assissts the Principal Investigator in maintaining and organizing the laboratory space.
- Attends regular lab meetings to present preliminary data and engage in discussions about ongoing research.
- Cares for and maintains small experimental animals, ensures compliance with ethical guidelines and proper handling procedures.
- Assists the Principal Investigator in writing manuscripts that describe research results for submission to scientific journals. This includes generating graphs and tables for internal review, as well as for grant applications and publications.
- Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
