Title: Student Helper - Neuroethics Student Researcher
Job Purpose
The Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a part-time Student Helper (~10 hours/week) to provide research support in the area of neuro-ethics.
Job Duties
- Provide assistance with and contribute to qualitative and quantitative studies of ELSI issues in psychiatry and neuroscience.
- Assist with development of survey instruments and interview guides.
- Participate in data collection, management and analysis to ensure quality of data, and identify and address issues as they arise.
- Conduct literature searches and summarize information.
- Build reports based on findings for research team and collaborators.
- Assist with preparation of papers and presentations for dissemination of findings.
- Attend project meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in neuroscience, sociology, philosophy, bioethics, or a related field.
- Ability to display a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required and must be able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues.
