Job Purpose

The research technician will be involved in experiments utilizing animal models (mouse and zebrafish), in vitro cell culture models and molecular biology techniques. The position includes preparing and conducting research experiments, collecting and analyzing data and documenting results. Prior experience in research work (such as PCR, western blots, molecular cloning, and basic tissue culture studies) is not required, but preferable. The applicant should have excellent organization and communication skills, and ability to work as a member of a team. 

Job Duties
  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a basic science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required with a Bachelor's degree in a basic science or related field.
