Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital, seeks a Research Technician II to join the Texas Children’s Microbiome Center. This position supports research on microbiome–neuroimmune interactions and childhood gastrointestinal health through molecular and physiological experiments, data analysis, and collaborative studies.

Job Duties

  • Performs molecular, cellular, and physiological experiments using in vitro and in vivo models to study microbiome–host interactions.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes experimental data.
  • Performs literature reviews, prepares research summaries and reports for faculty reviews.
  • Develops, optimizes, and applies experimental methods relevant to microbiome and gastrointestinal physiology research.
  • Maintains lab organization, equipment, supply inventories, and regulatory documentation while ensuring compliance with BCM and TCH research and safety policies.
  • Assists with multiple ongoing research projects, communicates findings with team members, and supports proposal and manuscript preparation.
  • Performs general lab support tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation of research activities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of relevant research or laboratory experience
