Title: Postdoctoral Fellow (PhD)
Job Purpose
The Tsai/Lee laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow position at Baylor College of Medicine to investigate the mechanism, and function of ATP-dependent protein quality control machines and stress-response proteins (Cell Rep. 2019; J. Mol. Biol. 2019; eLife 2020; Nat. Commun. in press). This is a full-time research position.
Job Duties
- Plan, direct and conduct specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluate and analyze data.
- Establish new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarize research findings and publish results in research journals.
- Responsible for laboratory operations.
- Supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
For protein biochemists:
Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification (IEX, HIC, SEC).
Experience with FP, BLI, ITC, or SPR to determined binding parameters.
Experience with conducting enzyme assays.
For structural biologists:
Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification by column chromatography..
Experience with protein crystallography or cryoEM.
Experience with analyzing protein structure and function, incl. site-directed mutagenesis.
For molecular/cell biologists:
Experience with molecular cloning..
Experience with mammalian cell and tissue culture, incl. Western Blots and co-immunoprecipitation.
Prior experience of working with a mode organism (bacteria, yeast, or worms).
