Summary

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dongyin Guan in the Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.

The Guan lab’s research focuses on using multidisciplinary approaches for functional multi-omics to identify and characterize key regulators to understand environment-gene interactions in metabolic diseases and cancer. The established platforms include GRO-seq, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, CRISPR-seq, single-cell RNA/ATAC-seq, microC, machine learning, sophisticated mouse genetic tools, and an ex vivo tissue culture system from patients. Applicants with backgrounds in Physiology, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics are preferred, although the specific area of expertise is less important than a drive to perform interdisciplinary research at the cutting edge. The candidate needs to have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution, an excellent publication record, efficient time management skills, and a strong work ethic. Most importantly, the candidate needs to be passionate about solving unanswered questions in metabolic disorders, cancer biology, or circadian rhythms. You will lead projects, design experiments, collaborate with other scientists to accomplish research goals, write papers, and contribute to grant writing. This position is funded by a generous Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) award and NIH funding. Baylor College of Medicine is a top tier Medical School and Biosciences Graduate School with a long history of innovation and current leadership in the biomedical sciences.
