Title: ChofSA Women's Service - Fetal Medicine, Senior Certified Nurse Midwife (Faculty Clinician)
Summary
The Senior Certified Nurse Midwife is a strategically important position that will be responsible for building a program, recruiting, leading outreach, and overseeing clinical professionals. This position will develop and stand-up a Certified Nurse Midwife high-risk practice that is coordinated with, and supervised by, the BCM Maternal Fetal Medicine Division.
- Create overall coordination and clinic policies that align with the Department vision.
- Recruit new midwives into the practice
- Manage and oversee a growing midwife team
- Lead outreach to community to build referrals from family practice and other referring physicians and the community at large
- Provide midwifery care to obstetrical and gynecological patients in accordance with approved midwifery protocols.
- Develop protocols and processes for the team, including on interactions with:
- Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to support high risk pregnancies
- In-house Laborists
- Other mid-level providers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Midwifery or Nursing or related field.
- Current licensing as an Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse-midwife by the Texas State Board of Nurse-Examiners.
