Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an Assistant Coordinator, Business Operations for the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (OIDEI) cultivates an environment of inclusion and diversity among the Baylor community in order to equip a healthcare and scientific workforce prepared to care for diverse populations locally and globally. The OIDEI provides oversight of the College's diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, policies and activities. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with other departments, academic centers, schools, student organizations, other higher education institutions and community organizations to co-sponsor diversity, equity and inclusion programs relevant for students, trainees, staff, and faculty members at Baylor.

Job Duties

  • Answers general phone calls and voicemails and triages to appropriate staff.
  • Generates and maintains a filing system. 
  • Coordinates public and intranet web page requests, social media posts and e-newsletter. 
  • Creates event marketing materials (e.g., flyers, digital calendar invites, posters, etc.).
  • Coordinates purchasing, including ordering supplies, contract routing, purchase orders and check requests.
  • Facilitates service requests, including AV services, virtual meeting set up, closed captioning, and work orders.  
  • Coordinates travel activities and conference registrations for appropriate staff. 
  • Maintains listservs and shared email accounts and triages to appropriate staff. 
  • Assists with other administrative duties such as drafting reports and correspondence, making room reservations, printing, making catering requests, and room setup.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • No experience required
